JSSCC 2021 Student Ambassador Video Contest Rules and Guidelines

 

Submitting Your Entry

  • Complete the Entry Form, Student Permission Form and  JSSCC Photo/Video Release Form by 5 p.m. PST, Sunday, January 31, 2021.

  • Any people in the video who can be visibly recognized must sign a JSSCC Photo/Video Release Form before the entry is submitted—minors must have parent or guardian signatures.

  • All email correspondence to info@jsscc.org must include “2021 Student Ambassador Video Contest” in the subject line.

  • Any entrant(s) under the age of 18 will need a parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to be part of a team that enters the contest. 

 

Guidelines

  1. The 5–6 minute video needs to focus on your personal experience and viewpoint of Sacramento.

  2. It is important that it has your personal touch!

  3. Please include one or more elements in each of the following two categories:

    • Personal Presentation. Your school, your family, yourself, your friends, your neighbors or neighborhood, etc.

    • Sacramento Landmarks and Unique Features. Examples: State Capitol, City Hall, Tower Bridge, murals, Sacramento parks, American River, Sacramento River, etc.

  4. Begin your video with a title. Include your name(s), school, city and state in the credits. The video should have narration and English subtitles. 

  5. You may enter as an individual or a group. (The scholarship can be divided on your own if you enter as a group).

 

Video Judging Criteria

  1. Content – Did the video address the theme of the contest? Was the information clear and well expressed? How engaging was the message?

  2. Creativity -Did the video display a combination of innovation and creativity of idea? 

  3. Clarity – Was there one key message that was clearly stated?

 

Eligibility

The contest is open to students or teams of interested students in the 6th -12th grade in the Greater Sacramento Region.  


Video

  • Videos should run between 5-6 minutes in duration.

  • Entries must be suitable for display to a general audience with respect to language, visual content, presentation, themes discussed, and related issues.

  • While the copyright for the video and its content is retained by the entrant(s), entering the contest automatically provides JSSCC the right to display the video online and/or in any public or private settings without restriction.

  • Please ensure that your video is in accordance with the YouTube Terms of Service.

  • No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.
