We are happy to report that we gathered a total of 42,500 masks made in Jinan for donation in the Sacramento region between April 2020 to June 2020. One third of the fund are from us; 1/3 from Jinan city government, and the remaining 1/3 from donation of Jinan citizens and businesses.
On April 10th, we donated 2,000 masks to Kaiser South Sacramento, 2,000 masks to the City of Sacramento, 2,000 masks to Sacramento Regional Transit (RT), and the rest to small family clinics. After the first batch of 8,000 masks, we arranged the 2nd batch of 10,000 to arrive in early May, and we gave them out to the Asian Community Center (ACC), OCA Sacramento – Asian Pacific American Advocates (OCA), Japanese American Citizen League (JACL), St. Roberts Church, Saint Peter – All Hallows’ Parish, Our Lady of Grace Church, Holy Family Church, River Ridge Neighborhood Church, Fo Guang Shan Bodhi Temple, and Matsuyama-Sacramento Sister City Corporation, etc, which in turn gave out our masks to their members and/or programs helping the needed. These two batches were funded by our organiztion and the City of Jinan. Last week of May, our 3rd and last batch of 22,500 masks arrived, in time for the gradual reopening of businesses in our region. We’d like to point out the last batch masks were bought with money donated by Jinan citizens and businesses. It is truly people-to-people goodwill between our two cities.
